About the role 

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate leader to become our first full-time Net Zero Lead, championing our environmental initiatives. This pivotal role requires strategic vision and the drive to embed net zero across our business while supporting our members on their net zero journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance & Policy:

  • Represent Tide in policy initiatives related to net zero.
  • Support key UK-based initiatives like IcebreakerOne's Perseus, B4NZ, Innovate Finance Net Zero workshops and other partners.
  • Serve as the liaison with net zero advisors and auditors.
  • Drive Tide’s Net Zero Plan, updating and renewing our commitments.
  • Advocate for Tide externally via podcasts, conferences, and stakeholder meetings, always advancing our net zero approach.
  • Monitor major policy changes in the UK, India, Germany, and other relevant markets.
  • Explore participation in similar programs in our India and Germany markets.
  • Advocate for standardized carbon accounting methodologies at the policy level.
  • Achieve SBTi Net Zero target approval.

Commitment to Net Zero Pledges:

  • Lead the carbon removals purchasing function, in collaboration with Tide’s India CEO, Finance, and PR & Communications teams.
  • Oversee Tide's emissions reporting in partnership with the Finance team.
  • Stay informed on advancements in carbon removal technologies and market trends, in the UK and globally including the SBTi and Oxford Offsetting principles, PCAF and others and integrate these into Tide’s strategy.
  • Champion the net zero mission internally, driving carbon emissions reduction across the organisation.
  • Develop a quarterly roadmap for internal emission reduction initiatives.
  • Partner with Product teams to create a roadmap supporting Tide members on their net zero journey.
  • Explore opportunities to assist Tide members in carbon reduction, including partnerships with carbon removal API providers.

  • A forward-thinking leader with significant experience in high-growth technology businesses and a deep commitment to climate change and net zero.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, capable of driving change and influencing decision-making.
  • Intellectually capable, able to simplify complex workstreams into actionable items and ensure their delivery.
