Tide is rapidly growing, expanding into new markets and always looking for passionate and driven people. Join us in our mission to empower small businesses and help them save time and money.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Our Technology Foundations consist of 3 engineering teams working closely with Cloud and InfoSec as part of the Security and Technology Foundations:
DevEx: This team serves as the bridge between Tide's product-focused engineering teams and our platform engineering team. Their mission is to deliver automation, minimize friction, and foster a seamless and enjoyable engineering experience.
DevProd: The mission of this team is to empower Tide’s engineers to focus on creating outstanding solutions for our members. From maintaining internal libraries to automating workflows and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, they ensure our developers have all the tools they need to succeed as we scale and innovate.
SRE (this role!): Our primary focus is ensuring platform resilience and providing top-tier observability. We manage observability platforms, enhance internal libraries with a focus on reliability, and automate incident management to maintain high service uptime.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Engineers in this role will work on improving and enabling the whole organisation to build a more resilient platform, have better monitoring and manage incidents without stress. These are the main areas this role is focusing on.
Candidates will have a natural curiosity for platform resiliency, distributed systems and observability systems. As well as being a versatile engineer who’s willing to write anything from internal libraries to IaC automation for observability platforms to incident management workflows.
- Promote Ownership and Collaboration: Embrace a “you build it, you run it” philosophy, working across teams to ensure system reliability and accountability.
- Automation&Tooling: Automate repetitive tasks, such as incident mitigation or database failover, to allow teams to focus on creative problem-solving. Improve our internal libraries to boost resilience across the organisation.
- Drive observability approach. Make the best use of our tooling, automate and help teams to be on top of their service statuses. Lean heavily for automated alerting, SLOs and monitoring in general.
- Set the stage for incident management. Help to streamline the incident management process, build tooling for it. In case of complex problems, help the teams to navigate towards incident resolution.
