Get started with your Tide account

Follow these steps to find your details, activate your card and start making payments.

Step 1: Find your details

In your Tide app's 'Payments' tab, tap the icon in the top right hand corner and then tap 'Profile & Settings'. From here:

Tap 'Bank Account' to see your:
  • Sort code and account number (useful to top up your account)

  • IBAN and SWIFT codes (useful for international payments)

  • EUR SEPA details (useful for euro payments)

  • Tide’s bank address (useful for Direct Debits)

  • Statements and documents (including your Account Verification Letter)

Tap 'Business Details' to see your:
  • Trading name

  • Trading address (where your Tide card will be delivered)

  • VAT number (which you can add in here)

  • Tax and compliance

Tap 'Personal Details' to see your:
  • Email address (which you can edit here)

  • Mobile number (which you can edit here)

  • Home address

Step 2: Set up your new Tide card

Your Tide card is delivered to your trading address within 4 business days of your account being approved.

  1. In your Tide app's ‘Payments’ tab, tap ‘Cards’ and select your card You'll see your card's order status and where it's being delivered

  2. If you want your Tide Card delivered to a different address, tap 'Replace this card' You can then choose a new delivery address and order it again free of charge

  3. Once you've received your card, tap ‘Activate’ This will allow you to make contactless payments immediately

  4. Once you've activated it, tap ‘View PIN’ You'll occasionally need to enter your PIN during a payment for your card's security, and to withdraw cash

Step 3: Set up your payments

Add a payee

To pay someone through your Tide app, you’ll need to add them as a payee:

  1. Go to the ‘Payments’ tab

  2. Tap ‘Send’

  3. Tap ‘Pay someone new’ and enter their details

⚠ Only add the payment details of someone you 100% trust.

Make a payment

You can now send money to your new payee via the ‘Payments tab. Just tap ‘Send’, tap on their name and enter your payment amount.

If you want to schedule a payment to be sent in the future, just toggle ‘Schedule this payment’ on and choose a date.

Set up a Direct Debit

If you want to set up a Direct Debit, provide your payee with your account number, sort code and bank address. These can all be found in ‘Step 1’ above.

You can then view, manage and cancel your active direct debits by tapping 'Send' > 'Recurring payments' > 'Direct Debits'.
