Making Deposits

Does Tide have other ways of capturing vulnerabilities?

We believe we have a duty of care to our community, and that we need to recognise when Members may be facing challenges. 

With this in mind, we won’t always wait for you to tell us if you’re facing difficult circumstances, or if you need a different type of support. 

  • You can deposit most types of cheques accepted by UK banks and in pounds sterling, but cheques in other currencies won’t be accepted.

  • Traveller's cheques, bank giro credits, electronic vouchers or other non-standard cheques can’t be deposited into your account. We can only accept cheques payable from a UK bank participating in the Image Clearing System.

  • We don’t accept paper cheques. Paper cheques posted to the Tide London office won’t be processed and will be returned.

  • A single cheque deposit can’t exceed £500.

Our staff are trained to recognise when a Member may be struggling, or when they would benefit from another approach to our support, and we’ll make a note of that on our side.
