Are there any restrictions on depositing cheques?

Yes, there are some restrictions. For now, to deposit digital cheques, you must be registered as a Sole trader.

You can deposit most types of cheque accepted by UK banks and in pounds sterling, but cheques in another currency will not be accepted.  Travellers cheques, bank giro credits, electronic vouchers or other non-standard cheques cannot be deposited into your account. We can only accept cheques payable from a UK bank participating in the Image Clearing System.
