Does Tide carry out credit checks when opening accounts?

No! To open a current account, we perform electronic checks run by third-party services to verify your client’s identity and comply with UK anti-money laundering regulations. While these checks will not impact your client’s credit score, they will appear on your client’s credit report.

Cashiers must be 18 years or older and to have an active UK mobile. They won’t have the option to view account balances, access statements, or initiate bank transfers. Card Reader and Tap to Pay on iPhone “Settlements” details in the app, are also unavailable for this role.

You remain responsible for your business and any actions or omissions of your team members to whom you assign the “Cashier role”. Any transactions initiated by the cashiers and any costs associated with them are binding to your business
