Are transactions automatically categorised with Tide Accounting?

Yes – you can categorise transactions manually, but Tide Accounting can do this automatically for you too.

All categories available in the Tide app are HMRC-compliant.

When a transaction is automatically categorised, you can save the selected category for similar future transactions – Tide Accounting will intuitively do this for you next time, and save you time.

For now, this option is only available for card purchases and Direct Debits, but we’re working to make it possible for incoming payments too. For a fuller understanding of transaction categories and their meanings, you can use our handy guide.
