How are fees calculated when I use my Tide card for non-GBP transactions in-store or online, at overseas retailers and service providers?

Members on our Free plan will be charged a fee of 1.75 % of the transaction amount, for card payments or ATM withdrawals in foreign currencies. 

Members on Tide Plus, Pro or Cashback plan will not receive currency exchange fees.

Currency exchange fees apply to your Tide card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay for: 

• In-store and online purchases in non-GBP currencies

• ATM withdrawals (in addition to our £1 fee for cash withdrawals; some ATMs may also charge an extra, separate fee for using the machine)

Important: When you use your Tide card to pay in other currencies online or abroad, Mastercard's exchange rate will apply.

Mastercard sets their own exchange rate, and this may be different to the one set by the European Central Bank. 

Mastercard’s exchange rate is applied at the moment the payment clears, so it may not be the same as what you saw when  authorising the transaction.
