What is ‘Automatic Billing Updater’ or ‘ABU’?

When you receive a new Tide Card, you normally need to update your card details for any subscriptions that are linked with your old card.

Instead, and to save you time, we use a secure service from Mastercard, called ‘Automatic Billing Updater’ or ABU. Now, when we issue you a new card, Mastercard will update your subscriptions card details automatically, so you don’t have to.

If you don’t want your card information to be automatically updated with your new card details, you should cancel your subscription directly with the service provider.

Your subscriptions won’t be automatically updated if:

  • Your card was permanently cancelled or replaced as ‘lost or stolen’

  • They’re paid with an online card
